Sensor-Safe / High-Temperature Silicone Gasket Maker
Loctite Red RTV Silicone is used for gasketing and sealing applications for both plant maintenance and small, medium, and large-sized OEM. It cures on exposure to moisture in the air to form a tough, flexible, silicone rubber gasket. It resists aging, weathering and thermal cycling without hardening, shrinking or cracking. It resists temperatures up to 600°F (316°C).

Recommended For
- Use as a sealant and adhesive for assembly and repair of industrial furnaces, ovens, boilers, exhaust stacks, high temperature ducting, and heating elements in electrical appliances.
- As a formed-in-place gasket/sealant
- Typical automotive gasketing applications including valve covers, rocker covers, oil pans, water pumps, end seals, intake manifolds, and rear axle housings.
Not Recommended For
- Do not use for gasketing carburetors or fuel control devices where it will be in constant contact with hydrocarbon fuels. Material will develop excessive swell and loss of mechanical properties.
- Not paintable.
- Not for use on polyethylene, polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, polymethylmethacrylate, polycarbonate, PVC or Teflon™.
- The curing process can cause corrosion to some surfaces. Not for use on brass, copper, magnesium, iron, zinc or galvanized metals.
- Not recommended for use in pure oxygen and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.
