How to use glue on just about anything
Since there are so many different types of glue for different jobs, always check the label for individual cure times and instructions.
No matter what you’re gluing, there are a few basic instructions that are universal no matter the type of glue you’re working with. Here’s what you need to know.
- Clean the areas you’re gluing, make sure residue has been removed. Glue won’t adhere to greasy dirty surfaces.
- Remove the applicator cap and seal from the bottle.
- Test the glue on a disposable surface to check that it’s dispensing at a good rate.
- Apply the glue to one surface you’re gluing. Typically, there’s no need to apply glue to both surfaces except when using contact glue.
- Connect the surfaces and hold in place until the initial grab time has been reached.
- Tightly secure the lid back on after using glue.
- Store upright in a cool place.
- Allow for full cure time before using the object.
