Tightening a lockset

Artificial Content Title -- to be hidden

If you’re tired of tightening and re-tightening door locksets throughout your house, then this simple solution is for you. Loctite® Threadlocker 242™ Blue is an adhesive designed especially for nuts and bolts. It prevents accidental loosening due to use and vibration.

Step-by-Step Directions

  1. Lay out several sheets of newspaper to protect the floor under the lockset.

  2. Remove one of the two screws that connect the front and back of the knob/handle with a screw driver.

  3. Open Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242 and apply one drop on the threads of the removed screw. Roll the screw so the Loctite Threadlocker adhesive is coated around the threads.

  4. Using a screwdriver replace the first screw.

  5. Repeat steps 2-5 with the second screw.

  6. Your lockset is tightened. Repeat for the other locksets in your house.
