How to make DIY soccer wall décor

Create the perfect space with the following DIY soccer wall art ideas.

Paper plate soccer ball décor

Design impressive paper plate soccer ball wall art pieces with these steps:

1. Gather materials: What you’ll need:

2. Print a soccer ball template: Go online to find a realistic soccer ball template. Something with several pentagonal shapes will work because you are only creating a 2D wall décor piece. Download and print it.

You can choose a template with black-and-white pentagons. If you want more freedom, consider printing a plain white one and coloring the different sections as you please.

For the painting part, consider using washable paint, especially if you have kids helping you with the project. This paint is easy to clean, dries quickly, and has an interesting texture.

3. Cut out the pentagons: Use a pair of scissors or a box cutter to carefully cut out the pentagons once the paint is dry (if you chose to paint them).

4. Attach the pentagons to the paper plates: Use Loctite Super Glue Ultra Gel Control or Loctite Spray Adhesive Multi-Purpose to stick the pentagons to the paper plates. Wait for the glue to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

5. Hang your paper-plate soccer balls: Choose the perfect spot on a wall to display your newly created DIY soccer wall art. Use Loctite Fun-Tak Mounting Putty to hang the soccer paper plates without nails or hooks.

Framed jersey displays

Craft a professional-grade jersey display, reduce costs, and achieve exceptional results with the steps below.

1. Get the necessary supplies: You will need the following materials and tools for this project:

  • A used standard frame or shadow box frame (32x40-inches or 30x36-inches)
  • Plexiglass (for standard frames)
  • Foam backing
  • Measuring tape
  • Pins
  • Foam insert (optional)
  • Adhesives – Loctite Spray Adhesive Multi-Purpose

2. Find the right frame: Measure your jersey before choosing a frame. If you have frames at home, consider using them to save money. Alternatively, shop around for affordable options. If you don’t want to splurge on a shadow box frame, opt for a standard frame for your DIY soccer bedroom décor.

3. Prepare the jersey: Start by ironing it to remove wrinkles. If you are using a regular frame, lay the jersey on a foam backing board (or mat board for a shadow box). Carefully fold the jersey so that important features, such as the player's name and number, are clearly visible.

Pro tip: Achieve a fuller appearance with a foam filler.

4. Hold the jersey in position: Once the jersey is perfectly positioned, secure it with pins. For added support, use Loctite Spray Adhesive Multi-Purpose to secure the jersey to the backing at key anchor points (such as where the pins are used).

5. Hang the framed jersey: For a standard frame, carefully remove the protective film from the plexiglass, then hang the frame. If using a shadow box, just close it and hang it up.
